Dr. Gordon Huang


Dr. Huang is a Canada Research Chair (Tier I) and Professor of Environmental Informatics laboratory at the University of Regina. He got his PhD degree from McMaster University, and worked for Environment Canada and B.C. Research Inc. before being at University of Regina. He is also an adjunct professor of the Hunan University and the Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering.


Dr. Huang has had extensive experience in nonpoint source pollution control and environmental modeling at both governmental and private consulting levels. Over the past 10 years, he has been involved in many environmental research projects and produced over 150 publications. The inexact-fuzzy environmental planning modeling software he proposed has received world-wide acclaim and been applied to many environmental projects. Dr. Huang served the United Nations as an international expert in regional environmental management and nonpoint source pollution control. He also acted as Guest Editor for three international journals, and is the recipient of the 1999 Research Development Award by the Canadian Foundation of Innovation.
