Inexact Optimization Methodology

EIL members have been studying a variety of optimization methods for energy and environmental systems analysis under uncertainty. In the past decade, EIL members developed a new set of methods -- interactive inexact optimization that were regarded as a significant breakthrough in the field of systems analysis under uncertainty. The methods are being further explored by many researchers over the world and have been used for the planning of pollution control, energy-system management, solid-waste disposal, water-resources management, and climate-change adaptation.
